ICT, knowledge and the economy is the combined continuation of the series The digital economy and Knowledge and the economy published annually by Statistics Netherlands until last year (the latter in Dutch only). This new publication describes the knowledge economy in the Netherlands on the basis of R&D, innovation and ICT. Research and education are crucial factors for a knowledge economy; ICT is indispensable as a facilitating factor. The Netherlands continues to perform well in the area of ICT use. In this respect, conditions are in place for an intensive knowledge economy. The book contains ample information about telecommunications, ICT use, R&D and knowledge potential.
