More than one year ago, students and staff of the International
Bachelor of Law Program of The Hague University of Applied
Sciences entertained the idea to establish a law review.

This law review was intended to serve as a platform where
students and recently graduated alumni can publish outstanding
papers dealing with issues of international, European and
comparative law, and thereby make them accessible to the
academic community and the wider public. Under the umbrella of
the Bynkershoek Institute and the support of the institute's head
Ernst van Bemmelen van Gent, students and alumni formed an
editorial board that created this edition of the Bynkershoek Law
Review (BYLR).

This first edition contains articles on EU competition law, minority languages and water as human right and international treaty law.
