Winner of the 2017 ABN AMRO Art Award, Saskia Noor van Imhoff is an artist who explores her surroundings in an idiosyncratic manner, and in doing so makes unexpected connections. The process of ordering, exhibiting, and archiving art plays a key role in her spatial installations, which force the viewer to observe and reflect in an unorthodox manner. This volume is published on the occasion of an installation she created at the Hermitage Amsterdam for the award. The exhibition makes associative links among unexpected elements such as architecture, interior space, culture, and nature. From it, questions emerge about growth, transitoriness, and the value of art.
