Dutch for self-study is a course book providing the basic structures of the Dutch language for those who have some knowledge of English. It can be used in a class situation but the presentation also allows a self-study approach.

In line with requirements of the Council of Europe this beginner's course offers a new route for pupils studying Dutch as a second language. Communication in Dutch is a main point in this book. Two hours of audio material, containing almost seventy dialogues and a lot of pronunciation exercises, are downloadable for free from www.prisma.nl. Naturally, this book also contains many reading and grammar exercises. Level A1/A2 of the CEFR.

Dutch for selfstudy is al vele jaren een zeer succesvolle taaltraining Nederlands voor anderstaligen die nog geen enkele kennis van het Nederlands hebben.

De in de taaltraining gebruikte voertaal is Engels en de cursist moet enige basisvaardigheid hebben in het lezen van Engelse teksten om de taaltraining te kunnen volgen.

De training richt zich vooral op het leren communiceren in het Nederlands en is zowel geschikt voor zelfstudie als voor lessen in groepsverband. Twee uur aan audiomateriaal, met 70 dialogen over alledaagse situaties en een groot aantal uitspraakoefeningen, zijn gratis te downloaden vanaf www.prisma.nl. Verder bevat het boek natuurlijk veel lees- en grammaticaoefeningen.

De taaltraining leidt op tot niveau A1/A2 van het Europees Referentiekader.
