INTRODuring the group-exhibition “Unstruct”, in Hangzhou, China, Kim Engelen showed a video still frame, presented in a light-box, of her bridge-performance called “Empathetic Walking Panel”. The performance was captured using a drone video camera and shows the Broken Bridge from above. For Engelen the bridge is a symbol of transition and connection. And during the bridge-performance “Empathetic Walking Panel” Engelen asked three thought-provoking questions about the expat community living in Hangzhou, China.
