There are two reasons to read this book. The first reason is that there is currently no other book that provides an overview of expropriation law in Europe. Indeed, for the majority of the countries represented in this book, this book is the only source of informationon expropriation law in that country in the English language. The second reason is that this book presents a comprehensive overview of the (basic) rules of expropriation in a broad variety of European countries. The authors mainaim is to determine whether there exists some ‘core’ of European expropriation law.
