Hinduism Blessed by the Blue Gods by Lancar Ida-Bagus is a bold and confronting exploration of how religion has long perpetuated social inequality and oppression. The book reveals how myths, rituals, and the veneration of gods such as Vishnu and Krishna are not mere spiritual symbols, but instruments through which power structures were justified and obedience enforced. Women, lower castes, and marginalized groups were systematically constrained, trapped in a web of dogma that undermined their freedom and dignity. Ida-Bagus unmasks the illusion of devotion, showing that religion does not always lead to ethics or spiritual enlightenment, but can also serve as a tool of control and social manipulation. The work challenges readers to reflect critically, to confront ingrained beliefs, and to reconsider the foundations of long-standing traditions, advocating for a society liberated from age-old chains and striving toward justice, equality, and human dignity.
