The experiences gained, and the results obtained from the conducted studies, will contribute to the use of strategies in decision making regarding the implementation of HPV and cervical cancer prevention programmes on the island. The work described in this thesis was carried out on Curaçao in the years 2013-2015. This research is part of a grant (led by Prof. H.M. Pinedo), from Fundashon Prevenshon (FP/Prevention Centre), which was given to provide scientific evidence that will enable a strategic and innovative programme for HPV screening and vaccination. D.J. Hooi MD, led the investigation with supervision of Prof. C.J.L.M Meijer, Prof. G. Kenter, Dr. W.G.V Quint, Dr. M.N.C de Koning and Dr. B. Lissenberg-Witte, whom are experienced authorities in the HPV- and cancer prevention field.
