HUMAN IDENTITY A PORTRAIT FROM GAZA, PALESTINE

Paperback156 pagina’sEngels
What if you leave your home inside the Gaza Strip - for the first time ever, and just for a few days - when suddenly, war breaks out? What if you were trapped and unable to return? What if you had to witness your family going through the horrors of war, without you being able to stand beside them? Whilst visiting a conference on the Palestinian West Bank, all of this became reality for Ibrahim Ali Al Sultan (1999) after the events of October 7th, 2023. He was left stranded and decided to channel his emotions into his art. For the sake of documentation, since most of his art was destroyed, and for the sake of capturing those unbearable emotions and transforming them into poetry and photography. HUMAN IDENTITY, however, goes beyond events of war and conflict. It captures a Palestinian voice, that speaks about matters relevant to all of mankind. It captures a journey through life, with all its inherent struggles and contradictions. It is a personal homage to the lonely quest of life, to the power of family, and to a homeland that will never be the same again.
