'Journal of Dutch Literature' is het eerste Engelstalige 'Open Access' tijdschrift voor onderzoek naar Nederlandstalige literatuur. Het bevat artikelen van vooraanstaande literatuurwetenschappers over de Nederlandstalige literatuur van de middeleeuwen tot heden. De insteek is methodologisch en vaak interdisciplinair. Uniek is de internationale invalshoek waarbij Nederlandstalige literatuur in een buitenlandse context wordt geplaatst of literaire verschijnselen worden behandeld in het licht van actuele vraagstellingen in het internationale literatuuronderzoek.
