The right humans feel they have to let themselves get carried around comfortably in their daily surroundings, between work, home, commercial areas and leisure facilities, has led to a considerable accumulation of people transport inefficiency. Combining means of transportation, parking, going from door to door, finding your way around are the opposite of what one hoped would have emerged from growing mobility needs. Awareness that new solutions are needed is rapidly increasing. In six chapters Light Mobility presents a broad overview of considerations in urban mobility, ranging from energy and infrastructure, via mobility systems, all the way to new vehicles for small-scale transportation and promising bicycle derivatives. The chapters are richly and colourfully illustrated with a large range of fresh case studies, scenarios and new designs for transportation systems, services and vehicles. Some of those are already available on the market, others are not.
