This booklet is intended as introduction guide to musculoskeletal ultrasonography from the Dutch Society of Rheumatology working group, IRON (Imaging Rheumatology in the Netherlands). It is not a comprehensive description of all locations that can be scanned, or of all pathologies. It offers a basic structure on how to address commonly scanned locations and it mentions basic pathologies. For further information, textbooks on ultrasonography should be consulted.
