Elliot has lived a life before meeting Andrew, multiple lives to be precise. He even had a different name, namely Cathasach, which is Gaelic for 'Brave'. He's lead to wonder, even while still being a mortal, if he's in God's favour. And seeing as that seems to not be the case he decides to live his life as excitingly as he can.
