Shaping a new Africa aims to contribute to the ongoing debate on shaping a new Africa, which was initiated in the Netherlands in 2002 for the purpose of gaining more profound and realistic knowledge of the dynamics of shaping contemporary Africa. This has been accomplished by highlighting and stimulating discussion on the 'other side' of Africa - a viable Africa rich in natural resources with ample capacity on the ground, striving to find African solutions to African problems; a vibrant Africa where significant progress has been made, new initiatives are being promoted and issues, struggles and challenges are addressed and discussed, and where attempts are undertaken to find solutions from within the continent itself.
