Structural behaviour of prestressed concrete hollow core floors exposed to fire
Paperback226 pagina’sEngels
This book covers the outcome of the Holcofire project, a European research project conducted by BIBM members and IPHA. It focuses on the structural behaviour of prestressed concrete hollow core floors exposed to fire. The book describes state-of-the-art research on laboratory fire tests, meta-analysis, desk research, simulations and calculations conducted by experts in the field of precast hollow core floor construction and fire testing. The lessons learned from Holcofire are firstly that the product meets regulations and requirements, secondly that the product performs well exposed to fire, and thirdly that the scale of real fires in car parks in specific cases is more severe than the standard fire.
This book covers the following actual subjects:
* Introduction to the research field of precast hollow core construction and fire.
* Meta-analysis on database containing 162 fire test results on hollow core slabs and floors executed between 1966 and 2010 and analysed against design rules from European standards EN1992-1-2 and EN1168.
* Results and analysis of laboratory fire tests to validate the shear and anchorage capacity of hollow core floors on rigid supports according to the product standard EN1168 Annex G.
* State-of-the-art desk research on the fire resistance regarding shear and anchorage of hollow core floors supported on flexible steel or concrete beams.
* Computational fluid dynamics simulations of the fire case Rotterdam car park with 6 cars on fire including an analysis of the structural behaviour of the hollow core floor due to the severe travelling fire.
* Theoretical modelling by Holcofire Frame Model and verification by laboratory fire tests on the behaviour of hollow core floors under restrained conditions with transversal blocking and shrinkage.
* Calculation examples of the fire resistance of hollow core floors under fire conditions according to European standards.
Over de auteur: Wim Jansze,
Building Technology Director at Consolis, is the acting project manager of the BIBM project Holcofire, and is well known from international publications in precast concrete construction on shear, fire and innovations. Arnold van Acker is internationally recognized through his numerous publications and conferences all over the world in precast concrete construction. He has been awarded by the FIP medal for outstanding contributions, and received also wards from BIBM and CEN. All authors of the book are recognized experts in the field of precast hollowcore floor construction and fire testing.
