On the edge of the mythical Dwingelderveld in the north of the Netherlands stands the old radio telescope. An icon in the history of radio astronomy.
During their camping holiday Luna and her friends write a script for a movie featuring a Spanish soldier who drowned in the Killer's Bog a long time ago.
When a new character unexpectedly enters their story the girls end up in a gripping adventure. Inexplicable things are starting to happen in the heathlands. A mysterious person is cutting holes in the fence and a tent is pillaged in broad daylight. Even the old telescope harbours a secret. The girls try to solve the mystery and get help from Ralf and his friend Marty.
Between the special encounters and exciting events Luna's thoughts drift off to the past. Her acquaintances with the pioneers of radio astronomy form the basis for a historic journey through this field of science. From the early discoveries to the construction of SKA, the world's most sensitive telescope which is being built in South Africa and Western Australia.
Will this journey through time bring us any closer to a resolution and will radio astronomy unravel the mystery of light?
