The unmissable artistic event of the spring!
Following on from Chambres d'Amis (1986) and Over the Edges (2000), TRACK will be the next sensational cultural event in Ghent

TRACK is an ambitious city-wide exhibition that will take place in Ghent from 12 May to 16 September 2012. The exhibition follows on from other high-profile arts projects such as the Chambres d'Amis (1986) and Over the Edges (2000).

In Ghent's spacious city centre, TRACK will cover six areas, each with its own distinct character: the Citadel Park with its bastions of culture the S.M.A.K., the Museum of Fine Arts, the HISK...; the area around the University library (the 'Boekentoren') and the 'Vooruit' arts centre; the historical town centre; the Macharius/Heirnis district; the area around the Fratersplein; and the area between the Gasmeter site and the Rabot high-rise blocks. The Gent-Sint-Pieters and Gent Dampoort stations will serve as anchor points. Thirty international artists will be working in indoor and outdoor locations in the different areas. They will make use of the rich diversity of the city: its history, architecture, sociography, culture, infrastructure... The project is intended to reach a wide public: art-lovers, tourists, Belgians, and not least, residents of Ghent. 'TRACK' will, in brief, represent a completely new use of open spaces.
