Dit tijdschrift is een middel dat door Writingplace platform gebruikt wordt om de relatie tussen architectuur en literatuur nader mee te onderzoeken. Dit heeft eerder al geresulteerd in de publicatie van Writingplace: Investigations in Architecture and Literature in 2016. Elk nummer van het tijdschrift is gericht op thema's die centraal staan in de vruchtbare relatie tussen architectuur en literatuur. De onderwerpen die in het tijdschrift aan de orde komen variëren van pedagogie, ruimtelijke analyse en kritische theorie tot artistieke praktijken, individuele gebouwen, landschap en stedenbouw. Het nummer Reading and Responding: Transversal Writing richt zich op de rol van de geschiedenis en het geheugen in de literaire en architectonische praktijk en publiceert verslagen van architectonische onderzoeken en architectonische ontwerpen die te maken hebben met het oproepen van herinneringen aan een plaats, hetzij in de locatie-analyse, hetzij in het ontwerp.- English-The magazine Writingplace Journal for Architecture and Literature is an international, open-access, peer-reviewed journal on architecture and literature. This journal is a vehicle for the Writingplace platform to continue its exploration of the productive relationship between architecture and literature – a quest that already resulted in the publication of Writingplace: Investigations in Architecture and Literature in 2016. Each issue of the series focuses on themes central to the productive relationship between architecture and literature. The journal’s content ranges from pedagogy to spatial analysis and from critical theory to artistic practices, architecture, landscape and urban design. The third issue, Transversal Writing Reading and Responding, focuses on the complex process of writing itself, and in particular on the question of reading and reviewing works in progress. It aims to offer an insight into the production of architectural writing by looking behind the scenes of a ‘text-in-progress’ by considering the position, perspective and voice of the author, and the nature of the act of reading.
