Structural engineering and architecture are both closely related to creative design involving problem-solving in varoius fields. Both disciplines are diverse and different but there is a strong overlap and close interaction between the two. Structure and architecture are inseparably linked as they both shape the primary elelments composing a building. And yet structural engineering is more often percievied as a technical, mathematical and computianal effort and is less associated with imagination, invention and a sense of aesthetics. 

We are convinced that reinforcint a transdisciplinary approach and emphasinzin the overlap between stuctural engineering and architecture can significantly increas the quality of ta project. Based on a selection of building projects this book aims to illustrate what is possible when an intensive dialogue between all the parties involved leads to an integrated design of building structures.
