This contribution brings together findings of several empirical inquiries into the role of the ecological context as a setting in which individuals become socialized, may become offenders, become victimised and may develop fear of crime. This book summarizes findings and lessons that have been learned within the framework of several research projects that took place in Belgium between September 1998 and September 2009.
