Sebastiaan Spandauw and Annick van den Heuvel are in their late thirties. They would like to have a child, but since Sebastiaan has a hereditary condition and they don't want to burden the next generation with it, they decide to abandon the idea. However, the desire remains latent and one day, Annick reads a newspaper article on embryo selection. They learn more about this technique and realize that this is a way to avoid passing on Sebastiaan's hereditary condition. They take the path leading to embryo selection and the second attempt is successful. It's doubly successful, in fact, as Annick is expecting twins!Over the last few years, embryo selection had become a major subject of discussion among politicans. Christian parties in particular are of the opinion that medical science is embarking on a slippery slope by using this new technique.
